Today at The Amazing Blog we've got quite the treat for you all. This intensely hydrating Blueberry Antioxidant Mask from Z glow is so deliciously scented that we’re almost tempted to take a taste! Instead, we let our skin drink up this treat made of 100% organic ingredients. Z glow is a US skincare brand that cares about what ingredients are absorbed into the skin, the environment, and our animal friends. This is something that always sparks our interest, particularly since they proudly boast to be organic, paraben, chemical and BPA free, vegan, non-toxic, and never tested on animals. This creamy face mask is filled to the brim with ripened blueberries and white tea, which do wonders for cell rejuvenation and the removal of dead skin cells. Blueberries are little antioxidant powerhouses and this face mask is full of all of their skin-loving vitamins. It is highly recommended for dry to normal, sensitive or mature skin types. Our favourite way to use it is as a base for our makeup, especially those of us who struggle with pesky dry patches that can cause your makeup to appear flaky. We simply apply a pea size amount all over the skin, let it soak in for a few minutes, and continue on with our make-up routine.

  • This mask glides on and over dry patches to make our skin brighter, while helping to reduce redness. When we really need to pack in a punch of serious hydration, we exfoliate the skin in the shower and then apply a generous amount over the face and neck. Relax for 10-15 minutes, as the mask works its magic. Then simply rinse and follow with your regular moisturiser. We also used the Blueberry Antioxidant Mask overnight. Just remember to always wipe away any excess before hitting the pillow. Of course, our favourite part is the fact that it smells just like blueberry pie. The Blueberry Antioxidant Mask is available for purchase here on the US website for $27 www.zglowskincare.com

Acne must be the worst skin condition that shows up on our skin.  It shows up uninvited and overstays its welcome.  Plus the scarring, redness and pigmentation it leaves behind.  Let's look at effective ways of preventing and treating acne.  It's so easy to want to pop or squeeze that pimple.  We all get the urge to do so.  Firsthand, lets understand what acne is, it's inflammation of the skin and when a pore is blocked then we get that nasty pimple we dread.  We try to conceal it, but we all know it's still there.

Don't, however get the urge to pop it with your dirty fingers your just adding fuel to the fire. You will only push the bacteria and dead skin cells deeper down into the follicle.  Acne cysts are large painful inflamed abrasions.  Unfortunately cysts in this case must be treated by a doctor. Each time your skin is damaged or infected there is a chance that as the skin heals some skin cells and tissue will be lost.

Some safer, natural alternatives to try.  Apple cider vinegar is known for its ability to fight bacteria and viruses.  After cleansing mix one part apple cider vinegar and three parts water. Use a cotton pad and apply mixture to the skin.  Rinse off 30 seconds to a minute or so later. Some skin types can tolerate longer times.  Aloe vera will help with moisturizing the skin, but try and get the most natural, raw aloe vera possible.  Aloe vera is effective as it has antibacterial properties.  Aloe vera also accelerates healing of skin, including reducing redness.  Our collection of non-toxic, clean green facial masks are a great addition to add to your acne fighting regiment.  Z Glows Pumpkin Mask and Clearing Mud Mask assists with fighting blemishes without using any toxic ingredients.  Steam face first and lightly exfoliate before applying masks to get the best results each time.  Stay consistent when using these natural, effective products.

Many myths are out there as far as our diet and acne.  An effective method is a food diary.  Daily log ins of your diet and any changes in your skin can help determine the foods that maybe triggering your acne.  Don't forget water it's a necessity in healthy skin, always consume half your body weight in water daily.  Of course, if you can consume more water, then please do so. Stay away for chemical laden products they will only worsen your condition.  Toxic ingredients will only enhance your acne condition and you'll find yourself struggling even more so than before with your acne.  Stress plays a role in acne as it raises your cortisol levels.  You may find yourself breaking out more under stressful times.  Meditating is a huge stress reliever and allows our body and internal systems to relax and refresh.  So time block some self care for yourself and practice relaxation.

Lastly, implement a system following these effective tips and give it time to process and stay consistent.  Remember it takes a little dedication but your skin is your largest organ and you'll be wearing it for a very long time.

Is your skin deprived of moisture? Our skin is our largest organ yet we neglect it without noticing the toll we have taken on our skin. Our skin is very vulnerable to infections and disorders and mostly exposed to the outside environment. We must keep our skin well hydrated so that it remains healthy and glowing. Some culprits to our dehydrated skin can be excessive use of scrubs, poor cleansing, disorders, medication, and environmental elements..

If your experiencing itching this can be a sign of moisture loss. Which is the skin sending signals through a tingling sensation. When the inner dermis layer is depleted of water it naturally creates an itching sensation. When our skin isn't hydrated are cells begin to break down and the outer layer begins to sag and wrinkle. The dehydration causes the skin to lose flexibility and elasticity. When our skin is dry than we are introducing our skin to wrinkles, infections, sagging, skin disorders, and a unhealthy glow/texture.

Some daily measures you can take avoid bathing in hot water but use warm to cool. Once your out of the shower apply moisture immediately while your skin is damp to absorb quicker and deeper. Increase your water intake, eat a balanced healthy green diet. Use clean, green non toxic skincare products for optimum results as harsh chemicals can exasperate your condition. Use a humidifier to add moisture to the air. Utilize a hydrating mask at least three times a week. At Z Glow Skincare we recommend our Blueberry Antioxidant Mask and Moisture Infused Mask used regularly will help build up the necessary moisture your skin is craving. These masks can be left on all night as well for an over night treatment. .Don't forget to keep your lips hydrated as well with a balm. Your skin will be representing you for a very long time make sure your taking care of it internally and externally.
